Egyptian producer and director Marianne Khoury named as the artistic director of the 6th El Gouna Film Festival, held between 12-20 October 2023.

Though she studied economics in Cairo and Oxford, Khoury has directed and produced films on controversial issues such as identity, memory, and social exclusion. She worked closely with Chahine for more than thirty years.

In 2022, President of the French Republic awarded Marian Khoury the National Order of the Legion of Honour (Légion d’Honneur) to Producer & Director Marian Khoury
