Yasmine Shihata Selected Golden Globes International Voter for 81st Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California

The Golden Globes announced an expanded voting body for the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards with the addition of new international voters, surpassing a pledge to increase the size and diversity of the voting body.

Yasmine Shihata, is Founder & CEO of Venus Media & PR- Publishers of Enigma Magazine and providers of international Enigma PR & Events services around the world.

“I am truly humbled and excited to be part of the voting process for these prestigious awards. I hope to bring a new perspective to the voting process and I’m truly grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for this honour, ” Yasmine Shihata said.

Shihata has also organized some of the largest, most influential events highlighting the glamour of Arab culture in the UK and the US. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the magazine, Shihata organized a Bryan Adam’s concert at the Great Pyramids of Giza.

Shihata graduated with BSc (Hons) from International Relations, London School of Economics. At the beginning her career, Shihata took part in internships with both Vogue and Marie Claire in London, and worked for nearly a year in US Vogue. In 2000, she launched Enigma Magazine, the first lifestyle magazine to be published in Egypt. Within a year, the magazine expanded its circulation to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and London.

Shihata’s international events aren’t just for entertaining, but both the magazine and the events focus on bringing Arab entertainment, glamour and success to light. “With each event, our aim is to promote a better understanding and appreciation of our culture in America by showcasing Arab art and culture and Arab success stories.” Shihata said in an interview with the Huffington Post.
