In cerebration of the International Labor Day, we are sending a tribute to the hardworking Egyptian women. They are the backbone of the economy and a partner in advancing the economic growth and development.
According to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), 34% of all households in Egypt today are solely supported by women, and 88% of households living in the slums are solely supported by women.
According to the National Center for Social and Criminological Research, there are 12 million female breadwinners in Egypt, they work in all kinds of job to support their children without asking for help. These breadwinners include widows and divorced women, wives of patients with incurable diseases, wives of incapacitated husbands, wives of prisoners, or abandoned wives.
