Greek National Museum of Contemporary Art Acquires Painting by Egyptian Artist Ayaat Nassar

The Greek National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens, Greece, acquired the painting “Lapis” by Ayaat Nassar for its Egyptian Collection.

“I am proud to represent my country and express its civilizations and history in Europe, especially in Athens, Greece,” Nasser wrote on her Facebook page.

Born and raised in Cairo, Ayat Nasser holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration. She has been practicing drawing, her favorite hobby since was 10. Despite her studies are unrelated to arts, she did not neglect her hoppy and developed it. 

After she settled in the UAE, she decided to pursue her passion professionally.A self taught artist, she developed her talent and practiced it until she mastered drawing and painting with many materials, starting with pencil and ending with acrylic, gouache and oil.

Recently, she started calligraphy paintings, and created the brand “Dahsha” for arts. 

Her works have participated in many exhibitions, competitions and art events in Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Bolivia, India and other countries. 

She was nominated for several awards, including the Noon Art Prize in Sharjah, and the Arab Woman Award in 2018. She also won appreciation awards from the UAE University, the Shield of Honor in Doha, and Nahr Bahr competition; and finally the Creativity Competition in Abu Dhabi. 

In 2022, she won the first place in the competition Creativity Without Boarders in Abu Dhabi, which was held during the International Watch and Jewelry Exhibition, which was organized under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Community Development.
