Another milestone for Messosoprano Farrah El Dibany; the only Egyptian chosen to sing at TV5 Monde’s Al Aula epic concert “AlUla Sous Les Etoiles “ in Saudi Arabia.

“AlUla sous Les étoiles, or “Alula Under the Stars” was a concert celebrating the month of the Francophony. It took place at the Maraya Concert Hall in March in AlUla, a french-Saudi collaboration to promote francophony and AlUla.

The concert was broadcast on Tv5monde worldwide; on March 24th in Europe and on March 25th in the Middle East and worldwide.

French pop stars and Saudi rising singers performed in this concert as well. “I was amongst the French singers invited to perform, being the only connecting bridge between the west and the east; hence the French and the Saudi, being Egyptian and Francophone living in Paris,” Dibany said.

Dibany performed a duet with French Renowned singer Enrico Macias. “I grew up listening to his songs. I also sang Mon Amour/ Aranjuez (a solo)  in French and Arabic, having the Arabic lyrics written explicitly for me for this occasion by the Egyptian writer, Ahmed Rashad, who wrote for me Histoire d’un amour in Arabic as well.”

As for the duet with Enrico Macias, it was one of his hit songs, “El Porompompero. He also sang a couplet in Egyptian Arabic with Dibany, that was also explicitly written for her for this occasion, by Egyptian writer Adel El Esh.

Farrah is the only Egyptian singer to sing with this legend after Dalida.

Some of the other famous names that performed in this concert are Gims, Carla Bruni, Helene Segara, Gilbert Montagné and Saudi Singers Dalia Mubarak and Sultan AlMorshed.

“Regarding my looks, I chose two dresses, one from Valentino and one from the Lebanese Designer Said Kobeisy, as I wanted to have an Arab designer as well present. I wore high jewelry from Van Cleef & Arpels. This is an extension of my longterm collaboration with Van Cleef & Arpels, after performing for them in Riyadh and shooting for them for Vogue Arabia,” Dibany concluded.
