The Movie A Nose and Three Eyes will have its world premier at the Red Sea International Film Festival that will run between November 30 and December 9, 2023.

Directed by Amir Ramses, A Nose and Three Eyes is a modern adaptation of Veteran Egyptian author Ihsan Abdel Koudos’s novel with the same title. The old version of the movies was produced in 1972.

The new adaptation is written by Wael Hamdy. It follows the story of Hashem, a prominent plastic surgeon in his late 40s, seeks Aliaa the psychiatrist and attempts to explain to her the struggle he is in after he became involved with a younger girl, and his story triggers a flashback where we see how Hashem met Rehab or Ruba and how their relationship developed. Ruba works in a social media company and she is responsible for Hashem’s account in the company, he was impressed with her work despite her young age until they both liked each other, and as Hashem gets involved in Ruba’s life he notices the massive age gap between them.

Aliaa the psychiatrist tried to find out why Ruba was able to get through to Hashem despite how many others failed through the years. Aliaa assumes that Ruba resembles Hashem’s mother but he doesn’t really see it that way, so Aliaa asks him to start writing about his mother and his past relationships.

During one of Hashem’s visits to Aliaa and on his way out he is shocked to see Nagwa Al Rawi, one of his past relationships with whom he was together for a year until he was surprised to find out that she was married in secret to an older man for financial benefits.

This new adaptation of Ihssan Abdoulkoudos’s novel charmingly transports us into the world of a man torn between three women. Dhafer L’Abidine’s performance is always nuanced and compelling, and the film’s text is reflecting Egyptian cinema’s long tradition of honoring great Arab literature.

The movie is produced by Shahinaz El Akkad, Rise Studios, Lagoonie Film Production.
