Dribbling to Greatness: Aisha Salem Named Camp MVP At Basketball Without Borders in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – Egyptian basketball player Aisha Salem was named Most Valuable Player at the the 19th edition of Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Africa, which was held at the American International School of Johannesburg in South Africa from Friday, July 28 – Monday, July 31, 2023. Salem is a national team player U19, from Alexandria Sporting Club.

In addition to Aisha Salem; Egyptian players, Salma Khedr, Leila Elsanadily and Karim Hatem were among the camp’s All Star Team. They were ranked among ten best players in the camp.

BWB Africa 2023 brought together 40 boys and 40 girls from more than 25 African countries to learn directly from current and former NBA, WNBA and FIBA players, legends and coaches and compete alongside their peers from across the continent.

Launched in 2001, Basketball Without Borders (BWB) is the the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) global basketball development and community outreach program that brings together elite players from outside the U.S. to learn the game from world-class players and coaches, showcase their skills in front of NBA, WNBA and FIBA personnel, and compete against top talent in the world.
