Egyptian 16-year-old Amina Orfi defended her 2022 title and claimed her 2nd world title in Melbourne, Australia. She won over Aira Azman, the first Malaysian woman to reach the final since Nicol David in 2001.

Amina Orfi won the World Squash Title for Young Women in France After beating her compatriot Salma Eltayeb.

Top seed Orfi, caught the world’s attention last year in France after she won the title at just 15.

After her win in Australia, Orfi said: “I feel so happy to have won this title for the second time, for this one’s more important because it’s more difficult to retain your title and I’m so happy I managed to do that.”

On the potential to win two more titles before the end of her junior career, she said: “This is something I think about because no one has ever won four times in a row. But for now, I’m not going to think about it. I’m going to keep training and focus on the professional tour and school!” Report World Squash.

In February 2023, she was selected Women Player of the month by PSA World Squash Ranking. Orfi aspires to break Nour El-Sherbiny’s record for the junior championships

“I want to win at least four World Championships titles in the junior category because Nour El Sherbini has three.

In 2022, Orfi had also won her first senior PSA Title in India, after dismantling Malaysia’s champion Aira Azman with a 3-0 win.

“My goal is to enter the Top 50 in the world by the end of this year.”
