Egypt’s Golden Girls this week

Every day, Egyptian female athletes (EFA) are raising the bar. They are competing in challenging and extreme sports and breaking world records. This year in particular has been phenomenal for EFA.  They have participated in competitions across the globe, and have received world recognition. They not only have carved their names in gold, received awards and honors, but they also, while making us all proud, are encouraging the younger generation to break the social and gender stereotypes.

Here are the Golden Girls of this week.

1- Rehab Gomaa

Rehab Gomaa, Egyptian handball player for French’s St. Junien announces retirement. Read more here

2- Farida Khalil

Farida Khalil, 12 , player of the Egyptian modern pentathlon team, won the gold medal in the women’s singles U17, at the World Youth Championship, which is held at the Arab Maritime Academy from 11 to 16 July 2023.

3- Shaimaa Samy

Shaimaa Samy wins the African title for Para-badminton

4- Nemaa Saeed

Egyptian weightlifter Nemaa Saeed wins 2 gold medals at the Arab Games in Algeria

5- Jana Al-Alfi

Jana Al-Alfi ranked second best scorer in the FIBA World Championship for young women

6- Asrar Maged

Asrar Maged ranked best triple-shooter in the Arab Women’s Championship

7- Hana Goda

Table tennis Hana Goda, 16, jumped the world rankings for women from 342 in 2021 to 32.

8- Maha Amer

Maha Amer Eissa wins fifth Place at Women’s 1m Springboard Diving at the World Aquatics Championships 2023 in Fukuoka, Japan. ّّ

9- Egypt’s National Artistic Swimming Team

Egyptian national artistic swimming team jumps climbed to 11th place and qualifies for Paris 2024
