Education For Employment-Egypt Holds First Employment Fair in 2023

Education For Employment-Egypt (EFE-Egypt) held its first monthly Employment Fair in 2023 to link its job-seeking graduates to employers. The fair focused on employing female graduates of EFE-Egypt in the ICT sector. The fair took place under the auspices of the National Council for Women, in collaboration with the Businesswomen General Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, and was funded by J.P. Morgan Chase Foundation. The fair was attended by more than 20 employers with more than 150 available vacancies. The event was held at a hotel in Cairo.

The event was launched by Dr. Maya Morsy, the President of the National Council for Women, in the presence of Ms. Nora Abou El Seoud, CEO of EFE-Egypt, and Dr. Dina Yacout, the Chairwoman of the Businesswomen General Committee. Her Excellency listened to a presentation about EFE-Egypt, its efforts to link young people to the labor market, and its mandate to empower women through employment and entrepreneurship. She also gave a motivational speech to the young ladies who have graduated and praised EFE-Egypt’s efforts in helping young women join the labor market. Her Excellency offered continuous support to EFE-Egypt to hold similar employment fairs at the National Council for Women premises to serve more young women and support the labor market and the Egyptian economy. Her Excellency also made a tour of the employment fair and got to know the participating companies, in addition to the mini-exhibition held by the Businesswomen’s Committee on the sidelines of the fair to review some products by women entrepreneurs from North Sinai, South Sinai and Alexandria.

During the employment fair, the employers held their first interviews with EFE-Egypt female graduates of the program funded by JPMorgan Chase Foundation. The interviews aimed to select the most suitable candidates to fill the vacant positions, a special feature of EFE-Egypt programs that create direct links between employers and graduates. Additionally, the Career Development Center of Nile University took part in the event by providing Career Guidance Sessions for graduates to support them in their professional lives. 

The event was attended by a delegation from the Businesswomen General Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce including Senator Engineer Ruqayya Al-Hilali, Deputy of Federation General Committee and senator representative of Suhag at the Parliament, Ms. Rania El-Shimy, representative of the Businesswomen’s Committee in Alexandria, Dr. Afaf Ahmed and Dr. Lamis Sabry, representatives of the Businesswomen’s Committee in Giza, Ms. Amal Mahmoud, representative of the Businesswomen’s Committee in Ismailia, and Dr. Maha Al-Houshi, representative of the Committee Businesswomen in Kafr El-Sheikh, Ms. Hasnaa Al-Sharif, representative of businesswomen in the Chamber of Commerce in North Sinai, Ms. Magy Silwans, member of the General Committee and Businesswomen’s Committee in the Chamber of Commerce in Luxor, Ms. Heba Faisal and Ms. Reem Fawzy, representatives of the Businesswomen’s Committee in Cairo, and Ms. Nadia Abu Qurma, member of the Committee for South Sinai Dr. Irini Zaki and Professor Abeer Sabry, representatives of the Businesswomen Committee in the Red Sea.
