“Careers for Her” Launches the First Virtual Conference and Job Fair in Egypt

Cairo, 6 February 2021, Under the theme “Invest in Her”, Careers for Her, the first career event designed to advance women in business, is getting ready to launch its first round in Egypt on the 26th and 27 February 2021.  The virtual conference and career fair will bring online business professionals of all levels together with top organizations.  Recruiters of all kinds—small, medium, large, public and private—are looking to fill a wide variety of roles during the event.  

Keynote speakers for the daylong online event include: Christine Arab, Country Representative – UN Women Egypt Country Office; James Michael Lafferty, Chief Executive Officer, Fine Hygienic Holding; and Olivia Rogers, Recruitment Leader, MENA Talent Team, Ernst and Young.  

The highly interactive conference aims to help women shape their future during this time of change.  Diversity and inclusion will take center stage, with speakers and experts discussing initiatives and efforts of private sector to improve gender diversity within each and every organization.  

Because rejoining the workforce isn’t easy, especially after a career break, the agenda of “Careers for Her” will highlight the struggles many women face, and how to help them to rejoin the job market.

In an effort to bring more women to the boardrooms, the conference will also discuss the latest initiative launched by the American University in Cairo to improve the gender balance of corporate boards in Egypt, and the measure by the Financial Regulation Authority to mandate gender diversity in the boardrooms. 

The powerful agenda, also aims at supporting women in business and women entrepreneurs, showcasing the work of “Business Women of Egypt 21”, and their efforts to advance their members and support their business.  

“Women have to realize their full potential, seize every opportunity to grow and to advance their careers”, said Tamer Zanaty, an entrepreneur, business strategist and a member of the CFH organizing committee.  “We all need to take part in building our country.  We need visionary wisdom from experts, authorities and leading voices in the private sector to drive the change”, added Samar Raouf, CEO of Communicate and a member of CFH committee.  “We are thrilled to start this movement and we are very grateful to our partners, who helped us to start this dialogue” commented Hala Shalaby Founder of Careers for Her initative and member of the organizing committee.  “We hope that this diverse and dynamic lineup of speakers and with the mounted job opportunities, announced in the career fair, will inspire and motivate girls and women to become the leaders we need to have so that we continue to build our country,” concluded Hala Tantawy Co-Founder of CFH.
