Fashion Designer Shahira Fahmy Participates in Egypt Fashion Week with her latest collection inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Sinai’s Bedouins. Egypt’s first Fashion Week will be held between may 12 to 15, 2023 at the Museum of Agriculture in Dokki .

Shahira Fahmy brought back the symbolic motifs of Siani’s local heritage with her new contemporized collection; inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Sinai’s Bedouins, their old silver jewelry and the embroidery of the region’s local women who are famous for their cross stitching and symbolic designs.

The new collection is also created with a dedication to the spirit of the land of Sinai and encompasses the the marvelous shades and tints of the Colored Canyon, a natural wonder sculptured by wind and water exposing ancient veins of rust, magenta, and ochre shades that she mixed and matched with the ethnic Bedouin motifs.

Made of 100% Egyptian cotton, the collection includes dresses, tops, scarfs, bags, accessories shirts and pants.

Shahira Fahmy is a well-known fashion designer who strives for sustainability in the fashion industry. A graduate of the American University in Cairo, she traveled to the United States on a Fulbright scholarship to study the Entrepreneurship Program for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.

She launched her brand Mix & Match، through which she works to revive the world cultural heritage, especially the ancient Egyptian civilization. She designs collections inspired by different parts of the world with a contemporized touch to suit our contemporary life. “The world has become a limitless source of inspiration .. We are proud to use local material like 100% Egyptian cotton and linen. We work towards sustainability,” Fahmy said.
