Dr. Hoda ElMaraghy Receives The Order of Canada

Dr. Hoda ElMaraghy received the The Order of Canada, from Canada’s Governor General, Her Excellency the Right Honorable Julie Payette, for her contributions to the field of mechanical engineering, notably for her work in advancing manufacturing systems in Canada and abroad. 

The Order of Canada is one of the country’s highest civilian honours. Created in 1967, the Order of Canada recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. 

ElMaraghy is an engineering professor at the University of Windsor, Canada. She worked at the university for more than two decades and has been the first female dean of a faculty of engineering in Canada. Her research into flexible manufacturing has helped manufacturers around the world. She acts as a consultant to many Government and Corporate organizations as well as industry in Canada, USA and internationally.

ElMaraghy had previously received the Order of Ontario, the highest honor award in the province – commissioned by the Queen of England.The Order of Ontario is also given to individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement in any field benefiting the people of Ontario or anywhere in the world.
